Below is a statement from Arizona Board of Regents Chair Cecilia Mata on Student Regent Felipe Garcia’s confirmation to the Arizona Board of Regents.  

“On behalf of the board, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to Felipe Garcia on his confirmation by the Arizona Senate as the newest student regent. Governor Hobbs has selected a dedicated and inspiring University of Arizona undergraduate student, and I offer my appreciation to her for this outstanding choice. Felipe’s voice will be instrumental in shaping student-centered policies, and we look forward to working alongside him as he brings his fresh insight and a deep commitment to Arizona’s students to the board.”

Regent Garcia’s term will begin on July 1.
