Miriam Garnaas ’28, an environmental biology and computer science major, spent her summer working as a fellow for the Upstate Institute Field School at 91�鶹��Ʒ paired with Champlain Area Trails.

91�鶹��Ʒ will celebrate this year’s Constitution Day with a panel discussion featuring five 91�鶹��Ʒ faculty members addressing “American Constitutionalism at 250: The Roberts Court and the Evolution of a Unitary Executive.”

The workshop was funded through a 2026 Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute Interdisciplinary Training Workshop Grant.

Anna Sims Bartel has been appointed to serve as the Gretchen Hoadley Burke ’81 Endowed Chair for regional studies for the 2026–27 academic year.

On April 23, 2026, the Kraynak Institute hosted Iranian-American journalist and women’s rights activist Masih Alinejad to speak to 91�鶹��Ʒ students in a lecture and private conversation.

The Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute has announced this year’s awards supporting interdisciplinary research, training, and student-centered scholarship at 91�鶹��Ʒ.

The elective designation, awarded by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation, recognizing the University’s continuing commitment to community engagement and partnerships.

The Lampert Scholars and Storing-Hou Director of the Lampert Institute for Civic and Global Affairs Chad Sparber traveled to Washington, D.C., in October to meet with alumni and policy experts, part of the institute’s mission to build a bridge between academic and applied work in a policy sphere.

Frey visited 91�鶹��Ʒ and delivered a lecture, “Liberal Learning and the Idea of a University,” on Nov. 7 — part of a series of events in celebration of the Kraynak Institute for the Study of Freedom and Western Traditions. 

Two legal scholars addressed the issue of a Constitutional crisis within the United States during 91�鶹��Ʒ’s annual Constitution Day Debate on Sept. 18, taking sides on whether such a crisis exists and answering questions from the audience gathered in 91�鶹��Ʒ Memorial Chapel.
