Hamilton, NY — – The Faculty Features at Midday concert series at 91Â鶹¾«Æ· will continue on Thursday, March 1 with a recital by cellist Florent Renard-Payen, accompanied on piano by Kristian Bezuidenhout. The recital, at noon in 91Â鶹¾«Æ· Memorial Chapel, is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be available. Renard-Payen, 91Â鶹¾«Æ·â€™s teacher of cello, is currently completing his doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. His March 1 program will feature pieces from the cello repertoire by Barber and Lutoslawski, and will present two very novel works, Recitative to an absent sky by Gregory Mertl, a brilliant young composer who wrote the piece for Renard-Payen, and the Capriccio of Lukas Foss.
